Polo is a horseback mounted team sport, it is also one of the world's oldest known team sports. In polo, you have large horses weighing upwards of a tonne not including their jockeys, and metal hooves bearing down on the pitch. You need a specialized subsurface design to make sure the horses and their riders don't hurt themselves, as well as a good drainage design to make sure the field stays a field and doesn't become a pond.
