We at The RS Group developed SFMP™ (Sports Facilities Management Programme) to offer practical industry-based training and education to personnel involved in all aspects of sports facilities management– both for natural grass and synthetic sports surfaces. This in-depth and all-encompassing module-based programme will upgrade grounds man to the next level to maintain and manage their sports surfaces.
30% Theory on all aspect of maintenance.
For example natural turf, to produce Quality Turf you need to look at the soil, grass, water, nutrition and management, you must keep all the categories in balance.
The theoretical session also teaches you the requirements of the international governing body, for example, FIFA needs the grass to be mowed at a height of 25mm.
70% Practical training that covers diagnostics and analysis of different categories. The purpose of this analysis is to determine where problems may exist and a management program can then be developed to gradually eliminate each problem.
Practical training on the correct use of the equipment; for example how to set the height of cut on a reel mower, basic checks that need to be carried out before using any equipment or how to calibrate a fertilizer spreader to spread the required rate.
